Rob Holmes, Founder & President
Rob is responsible for overseeing the overall strategic direction of Green Living Project, along with supervising sales, marketing, and business development opportunities. Rob has a unique and diverse background in media production, responsible tourism, international conservation, and business startups. He also knows first-hand how to successfully build, promote, and sell businesses to corporate partners, media, and consumers. Rob brings over 18 years’ experience within the outdoor retail and travel industries with companies such as R.E.I., E.M.S., and Trails.com. As co-owner of Trails.com, Rob helped build, manage, and sell the company while becoming the #1 outdoor and adventure travel website in 2006. Rob has also worked and consulted with over 20 leading international conservation organizations, including The Nature Conservancy, International Snow Leopard Trust, Appalachian Mountain Club, and Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo. Lastly, Rob is a well-known photojournalist and adventure traveler with over 200 multi-media presentations on expeditions to over 70 countries. He received a BA in Environmental Biology & Wildlife Management from Hobart College in 1992 and an MBA in International Business, Environmental Management, & Marketing from University of Washington in 1999.
Matt Weatherly, Production Supervisor
Matt is responsible for supervising all video editing and post-production for Green Living Project, along with creating design elements to support each video and supplement the website. He carefully crafts each story to maximize the impact of environmental sustainability and community development while maintaining a fluid pace that naturally showcases the project at hand. Matt has been fully involved in film and video production for over 10 years. He possesses a multitude of skills within the field including videography, multimedia production, graphic design, and web development. Throughout his career, he has developed a wide range of projects including short films, music videos, commercials, and television shows. Most notably, he has been an integral part of an independent film organization that is currently in production of their tenth feature length film. The award-winning group, Old School Pictures, continues to receive recognition at film festivals and events around the nation. Matt received a BA in Communications, with a concentration in Film and Video Production from the University of Memphis in 2003.
Jennifer Leong, Director of Strategic Partnerships
Jen is responsible for building strategic production and distribution relationships for Green Living Project. Jen identifies and fosters production collaboration opportunities between GLP and tourism boards, projects, expedition sponsors and other strategic partners. She oversees distribution through the planning, marketing and execution of all GLP Premier Events. Jen brings a strong background in sales, marketing and network building to the team through her twelve years in the adventure and educational travel industry. As Sales Director at the Educational Travel Alliance, she brought the classroom to life for students all over the country, planning educational journeys to Europe, South America and Australia. As Business Development Manager at European Incoming Services, she not only spearheaded the development of adventure, ecotourism and voluntourism programs in Europe, but also established a strong foothold in several leading networks in sustainable travel, such as the Adventure Travel Trade Association and Travel Learning. Jen is also an active participant in local and national charity missions, such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (Team in Training) and the SYTA Youth Foundation. Jen received a BA from Boston University in 1997.
Jason Esler, Director of Events
Jason is responsible for all facets of the Green Living Project Mobile Tour. He has a strong background in environmental mobile marketing and mobile tour operations within the green industry. From his childhood days exploring in the forests, lakes and rivers of the Midwest to his cultural anthropology studies in rural Alaska, Jason has maintained a profound interest in our environment and the ways in which we interact with it. The confluence of human behavior and the natural world led Jason to green marketing, and through his work with Volkswagen and Chevy’s clean fuel programs and Kashi Foods, he has helped promote healthy and sustainable living for both clients and customers alike. In the winter months, Jason can usually be found on his skis in knee-deep powder, near his home base of Salt Lake City.
Laura Knudson, Education Program Manager
Laura is responsible for managing Green Living Project’s Education Program, including curriculum development, distribution, and outreach. She has diverse experience working with kids, from serving as a mentor at the Boys and Girls Club to coaching youth basketball and tutoring elementary students. Her environmental interests flourished with her involvement in conservation research at the School for Field Studies, Kenya, in 2006, where she realized the connection between community development and environmental protection. In 2008, Laura examined American culture and its effect on the environment in her thesis documentary, Second Nature. As the co-founder for the Change Lives Foundation, Laura manages a nonprofit that provides funds for education, sports and sustainable gardening programs in Africa. Laura received her BA in Environmental Studies and Creative Writing from University of Redlands in 2008.
Rich Smith, Audio Supervisor
Rich is responsible for the music and sound component of Green Living Project’s videos. He is a performer, composer, music producer, audio engineer, and has enchanted audiences with his impressive piano and vocal performances since the age of 6. With a passionate and effortless improvisational style, Rich’s performances and CD’s have received critical acclaim worldwide. His love for nature and the environment has inspired many of his musical compositions. “The Giant Forest”, one of Rich’s CD’s, glorified and personified Sequoia trees and parts of their ecosystem like water, fire, a chipmunk and a hawk. Rich’s music has been featured in film, television, radio, theater, and has graced such clients as the Producers Guild of America, Premiere Radio Networks, and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Josh Lampe, Graphic Designer
Josh is responsible for Green Living Project’s, graphic design, branding and multi-platform communication efforts. He has worked as a designer for more than 14 years. From Men’s Health and Backpacker magazines to Universities and Hospitals, Josh’s award-winning designs have helped Corporations and Non-Profits develop strong brands, imaginative campaigns and stunning presentations. Josh’s entrepreneurial spirit and imagination drives him to consistently push boundaries while keeping message and marketing strategy at the forefront. A singer and songwriter, Josh works hard to balance work life while recording and playing music as much as possible. Josh received a bachelor’s degree in Integrative Arts from Pennsylvania State University in 1999.
