Our Arrival in Maine: Introducing the Team

August 22, 2009

Welcome to the kick off of Green Living Project domestic production! Due to our valued viewer feedback, this trip is the first in a series of various domestic expeditions. Over our adventures, we have documented over 30 projects in ten countries all over Latin America and Africa! And now we will showcase a myriad of stellar projects in our own backyard- the United States of America. First stop, Maine- the land of plump lobsters, small-town historical reminiscing, and finger staining summertime blueberries.

Dizzily, I swaggered off flight #6354 Saturday morning at Boston Logan International into the toe-curling humidity. After a short trek to Enterprise, I met the Green Living Project team as we all gathered around our bulging packs, compliments of Gregory Mountain Products, and exchanged “red eye” war stories. Only hours before, I had spent the night in a meat locker, known as Chicago O’Hare International airport, under a couple of airplane blankets I yanked from the reception desk and now I was meeting the individuals I would be spending the next twelve days among. Let me introduce them to you.

Standing at 5’10″ and equipped with a Canon XHA1 is Chad Simcox, long time member of the GLP camera crew, Memphis native, artist, and a self described freelance-production renaissance man (http://chadsimcox.com/) . Next is our host, Jayms Ramirez, who you may recognize from the Travel Channel’s “Eco-Luxe” or “Fact or Fiction” and who’s personality is as quirky as his curls (http://jaymsramirez.blogspot.com/). Then we have our second camera operator, Amoris Walker, the former traveling performance artist/love child endowed with a booming voice and a film production career that will blow your mind (http://sunflowerdigital.com/index.htm). Following in suit, Green Living Project’s founder and front man Rob Holmes, our sustainable sensei and often the butt of a good laugh. Rob’s passion for advancing sustainability with an inspirational message and visual education has taken Green Living Project to new heights this year, including the domestic expeditions. Finally, me. My name is Adrienne Rosenberg; and I am your eyes, ears, and taste buds for our Maine adventure. I have produced and directed a documentary film in Tamil Nadu, India, worked on a dude ranch, filmed out of an old WWII Stearman biplane, and have an unexplainable affection for Appalachian style clog dancing. I have recently finished graduate school with a master’s in International Human Rights and am ready to tackle this crazy place called planet Earth.

Tonight we are staying with Rob’s friend Eric who is a local fly fishing guide on the coast and former Patagonia employee. Seeing that there is no television and the fridge is chalked full of Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA, this will be a nice and relaxing night before the launching of Green Living Project – Maine.
