Project Overview
One of Costa Rica’s leading river rafting companies, Ríos Tropicales is also one of the country’s sustainable tourism pioneers. In addition to adopting a deep environmental ethic in its own operations, the company is working with the local community to develop sustainable sources of income and promote conservation. From reforesting denuded land to employing local residents as river guides to developing local sustainable tourism attractions, Ríos Tropicales is proving that financial and environmental sustainability can go hand in hand. Not to mention the fact that their trips down the Pacuare River are just plain good fun.
