Maine Compost School

Project Overview

As the longest running compost school in the country, Maine Compost School provides training and educational experiences to farmers, business persons, and government workers by combining classroom presentations with “get-your-hands-dirty”, interactive opportunities. Maine Compost School prides itself on the various applications of composting, most notably the area of managing slaughterhouse waste and large carcass mortalities. No bones about it, Maine Compost School’s objective is to develop an atmosphere in which composting becomes a normal part of daily living that reduces our impact on the planet.
