Maine Huts & Trails
Project Overview
Maine Huts & Trails is creating an exciting, new hut-to-hut trail network in Western Maine that will offer year-around, recreational opportunities to a variety of adventurers as well as stimulate local economic development. Spanning over 180 miles of non-motorized trails from the Mahoocus Range to Moosehead Lake, Maine Huts & Trails is establishing twelve off-the-grid lodges that will generate as well as store their own power by means of hydro, solar, and wind energy. Designed after a traditional Maine sports camp, Maine Huts & Trails provides outdoor enthusiasts with opportunities of adventure, comfort, and conservation.
