Mihingo Lodge

Project Overview

A safari lodge adjacent to Lake Mburo National Park that leverages green and sustainable practices and operates almost entirely off the grid.

  • Guest quarters have solar electric + water heating
  • Extensive water catchement system, using a 1500 square meter rock face that collects rainwater
  • The lodge actively promotes a number of community projects: The Honey Fund that puts money toward primary school conservation education and adult literacy programs.  The Leopard and Hyena Conservation Fund works toward educating local farmers about the critical role of scavengers and predators within the park’s ecosystem.
