Papercraft & Banana Boat

Project Overview

Banana Boat retailers offer african textiles and tribal art - fairly traded with local suppliers. Owners Suni Magyar and Ralph Schenk offer tremendous support to employees.

  • No-interest microloans and health education made available to employees and suppliers including the  the employee-owned cooperative Papercraft
  • Papercraft promotes capacity building with a previously untrained, predominantly female and head-of-household, staff
  • Sourcing pineapple, banana, elephant grass and recycled paper, they repurpose waste materials into high-end hand crafted stationary products for retail sale.
